What We Test, by Product Line
Our vapes and pouches go to different accredited labs. Gust Core results are not published yet.
Gust Pro & Lightning
16 flavors tested for nicotine by Legend Technical Services, Inc. (ISO 17025 accredited, St. Paul, MN) via LC-MS/MS: 13 of 16 not detected, trace in 3. A July 2026 panel on six flavors found heavy metals, diacetyl and 2,3-pentanedione below the lab's reporting limits.

We test our vapes and pouches at different labs because they're different products that enter your body differently. Our vape products (Gust Pro, Lightning) are tested by Legend Technical Services, Inc., an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in St. Paul, Minnesota, using LC-MS/MS with detection limits down to 0.063 µg/g. Of 16 products tested under Work Order #2503988, 13 returned non-detect (ND) results for nicotine. A follow-up heavy-metals and carbonyl screen on six flavors (Work Order #2602062, reported July 2026) found every heavy metal — arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury — below the limit of quantitation by ICP/MS, and diacetyl below the reporting limit. Our Focus Pouches are tested by Certified Laboratories (Burbank, CA; A2LA ISO 17025 accredited, with the COA marking which results that doesn't cover) for pesticides, solvents and heavy metals, with caffeine measured by HPLC — view the full Certificate of Analysis.

Our Commitment to Transparency
We send our vapes and pouches to independent labs and publish the full reports — download them above. Our vape liquid contains three ingredients: VG, PG, and food-grade flavorings, with no added nicotine, made without diacetyl or vitamin E acetate. Nicotine results by flavor are in Work Order #2503988 below; heavy metals and carbonyls are in Work Order #2602062. If a brand won't show you theirs, ask why.

Nicotine Content
Nicotine by LC-MS/MS (detection limits 0.063–0.073 µg/g): not detected in 13 of 16 flavors tested; trace in Lush Ice (0.85), Bold Tobacco (24) and Tobacco (26 µg/g). Every Cyclone Pods vape is made without added nicotine.
Heavy Metals
Lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury by ICP/MS in six flavors (Work Order #2602062, July 2026): every result below the lab's limit of quantitation (0.045–0.13 µg/g, by metal and sample).
Diacetyl & 2,3-Pentanedione
Below the lab's reporting limit (<2.3–2.4 µg/g) in six Gust Pro and Lightning flavors in the July 2026 carbonyl panel (WO #2602062). We make our e-liquid without vitamin E acetate; neither report tests for it.
Trace Carbonyls
The same July 2026 panel measured trace formaldehyde and acetone in all six flavors, and acetaldehyde or acrolein in some. Full ranges are in the carbonyl table below.
How We Test
Our nicotine analysis was performed by Legend Technical Services, Inc. (WO# 2503988, reported December 2025), an independent laboratory in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Samples are analyzed using a Waters Acquity H Class UPLC with Triple Quadrupole Mass Detector via LC-MS/MS, in compliance with ISO 17025:2017 standards.
Each sample is prepared in a Class A volumetric flask with 50/50 Water/Methanol and 0.1% ammonium hydroxide diluent for precise detection down to 0.063 µg/g.

2026 Heavy Metals & Carbonyl Panel
On May 8, 2026, Legend Technical Services, Inc. (ISO 17025, St. Paul, MN) received six of our flavors — Gust Pro Blue Razz, Piña Colada, and Lychee Aloe, plus Lightning Watermelon Raspberry, Strawberry Banana, and Cinnamon Churro — for a dedicated heavy-metals and carbonyl screen (Work Order #2602062, reported July 7, 2026). Every heavy metal came back below the limit of quantitation. Diacetyl and 2,3-pentanedione — the two compounds tied to "popcorn lung" — were below the reporting limit in all six.
| Metal | Method | Limit of quantitation | Result (all six flavors) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arsenic | ICP/MS | 0.091–0.10 µg/g | Below the LOQ in all 6 |
| Cadmium | ICP/MS | 0.091–0.10 µg/g | Below the LOQ in all 6 |
| Lead | ICP/MS | 0.12–0.13 µg/g | Below the LOQ in all 6 |
| Mercury | ICP/MS | 0.045–0.050 µg/g | Below the LOQ in all 6 |
| Compound | Result across all six flavors |
|---|---|
| 2,3-Butanedione (diacetyl) | Below the reporting limit in all 6 (<2.3–2.4 µg/g) |
| 2,3-Pentanedione | Below the reporting limit in all 6 (<2.3–2.4 µg/g) |

| Formaldehyde | Measured in all 6 (0.74–13 µg/g) |
This report prints a result it can't quantify as "less than" a limit: the limit of quantitation (LOQ) for the metals, and what we call the reporting limit for the carbonyls. Below a limit doesn't mean zero, and the report doesn't call these results "not detected". Carbonyls such as acetaldehyde, acetone, and formaldehyde are reported here in full — we do not claim zero carbonyls. The compounds specifically linked to bronchiolitis obliterans ("popcorn lung"), diacetyl and 2,3-pentanedione, were below the reporting limit in all six flavors. Heavy metals by ICP/MS (EPA 3050B); carbonyls by UPLC/UV. Full per-flavor values are in the downloadable 2026 report (PDF).

Frequently Asked Questions
We use Legend Technical Services, Inc., an independent accredited laboratory in St. Paul, Minnesota. Their credentials and contact information are listed on each report.
We publish two Legend Technical Services reports for our vapes: nicotine in 16 Gust Pro and Lightning flavors (Work Order #2503988, December 2025) and heavy metals and carbonyls in six flavors (Work Order #2602062, July 2026). Focus Pouches are tested by Certified Laboratories. We don't publish a report for every batch.
The FDA doesn't approve vape products. VG and PG are FDA GRAS (generally recognized as safe) for use in food; that status doesn't cover inhaling them. We test independently through Legend Technical Services (ISO 17025): our published reports cover nicotine in 16 flavors and heavy metals and carbonyls in six.
Our published reports are the two Legend Technical Services work orders above and the Focus Pouches certificate of analysis. We don't have a separate report for every batch. If you have a question about a specific product, contact our support team and we'll tell you which report covers it.
In our nicotine report (Work Order #2503988), Not Detected (ND) means below the lab's limit of detection (LOD): 0.063 to 0.073 micrograms per gram, depending on the sample. It doesn't mean zero. Our 2026 metals and carbonyl report (Work Order #2602062) never says Not Detected. It reports the metals down to the limit of quantitation (LOQ), and it prints every metal result and some carbonyl results as less than a stated limit. This page calls those below the LOQ (metals) or below the reporting limit (carbonyls); that doesn't mean zero either.
